Captain's Log #4316: The Rebaking
Hello again, everybody.
Once again, it's time for (belated) news, updates, thoughts, and general ramblings. So, let's begin.
Last week, I went to speak with Andy Childress, the creator of BubbaWorldComix, for advice about cartooning. He gave me some great ideas that I'm currently working on. If he's reading this, thank you for the help.
Biscuit Man will be returning as a weekly web comic on this site. I'm currently working on more strips before I officially upload all the one's from the Winston County Journal. I planning to be finished by the end of April or first week of May. Then, I'll upload one strip every Saturday morning.
In surprising news even for myself, I now have a Facebook profile. I'm using it for promotional reasons and spreading info, but I'm willing to interact with people in my spare time.
I also have Zazzle designer account that I'm currently working on the store. I'm making T-shirt art and merchandise for Biscuit Man. Unfortunately, I can't make the prices lower. So, there is a very small likely hood that I would make a dime from this. However, I love creating things.
On to gaming, One Piece Burning Blood had a features trailer that revealed over 60 support characters. I wouldn't mind this for characters like Laboon, Rebecca, and Nojiko who aren't real fighters. However, Rob "Luffy Shredder" Lucci, Monkey D. "Grappler" Garp, "Miss Slash" Tashigi, "Bell Dancer Slasher Princess" Vivi (Also as of this blog, Vivi is returning for the Yonkou Arc! YES!), and many others with fighter potential get support status. I'm glad that Koala and Bon Clay made the cut, but in not place of characters who would make more sense as fighters.
Before someone response with "the game has 42 characters that's more than what most first games!", it's not about the number of playable characters but whom they chose as playable. "But they could be DLC!" Not many people can afford to buy DLC including myself. "They might appear in the sequel." How long did it take for Lucci and Tashigi to be playable in the Pirate Warriors series? I'm definitely excited for the game, but I'm starting to worry that it might turn into a disappointment.
On to #Gamergate news, Overwatch Tracer's pose change was a publicity stunt, Alison Rapp fired from Nintendo because her second job, and Baldur's Gate devs are using politics to dodge for bad writing. I put these 3 in a run-on sentence because they are waste of time.
Moving on, Hulk Hogan wins his lawsuit against Gawker which was a well deserved win. Gawker, Buzzfeed, Vox, and sites like them are the cream of the crap of news sites. They need a good kick in the rear end for things that they've pulled.
Speaking of those sites, the SPJ Kunkel Awards was a wash. They gave too many awards to people who didn't deserve it after the harm that they've done to gamers and the community as a whole. Koretzky's too buddy-buddy with people in these sites to actually make it creditable l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶m̶o̶s̶t̶ ̶a̶w̶a̶r̶d̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶w̶s̶.
In short, these last few events have been annoying crap that the media keeps using to make gamers, gaming, and Pro-#GG look bad. It is not going to work because more people are on to them. I just hope more people are willing to put their foot down against these SJWs and Anti-#GG. I want my nonpolitical video gaming back.
So, I believe that's it. I'm sorry that went on constant rants through a some of this. Now, excuse while I'll going work on my new Biscuit Man strips. And, I hope you all have a nice. Peace!
